“Today will be a tough day, but we can’t throw up our hands in despair. We have to fight back. We are not giving up,” Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said in a video published on Donald Trump’s inauguration day.

“Today is going to be a tough day for millions of Americans including myself, but our response has to be not to throw up our hands in despair, not to give up,” Senator Sanders said in the video.

“But in fact, to fight back as effectively and vigorously as we can.”

“The prize is that we will continue fighting for the government that represents all of us, not just the 1%. And we are going to go forward, in the fight for economic, social, environmental and racial justice.”

“That’s who we are, that’s what we are going to do. We are not giving up,” the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate said.

Sanders is not only leading the fight for economic justice, but now he’s taken up to lead a patriotic resistance to the Trump administration’s attacks on the working poor, middle class, and all vulnerable Americans.

President Obama told the American people they were not alone, and Senator Sanders is doing his part to reinforce this idea and remind everyone that they must not give up. Now is a time to fight back for a government that works for the people.
