Elizabeth Warren Has A Great Idea To Declare January 25 Trump’s Anti-Immigrant Day

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is not impressed with President Donald Trump’s immigration executive actions spree Wednesday, so in response she suggested declaring January 25 the Trump Administration’s First Anti-Immigrant day.

“Why not just declare January 25 as the Trump Administration’s First Anti-Immigrant Day?” The Democratic Senator fired off in a statement.

“None of President Trump’s actions today will make us safer. They will tear apart the fabric that makes us strong and united as a country. His actions today will hurt working parents and children who have risked their lives to flee war, violence, and poverty. They will waste taxpayer dollars on irresponsible and misguided pet political projects. They will divert local police department resources away from protecting our communities and building trust in the neighborhoods our officers serve.

“President Trump’s actions today show an ugly indifference to the immigrants who have contributed to our communities and a profound misunderstanding of the real dangers our nation faces.”

Trump signed executive actions today dealing with sanctuary cities, building a border wall, and increasing immigration detention. Not only are his actions inhumane and bad for our national security, but his actions could cost the taxpayers a lot of money.

According to Center For American Progress, Trump’s immigration actions will cost taxpayers at least $117 billion over the next decade:

– $9 billion: Mandating detention at the border

– 25 billion: Building a giant concrete wall

– $0: Amount Mexico will contribute to the wall

– $7.5 billion: Maintenance of giant concrete wall

– $6.6 billion: Tripling the number of ICE deportation officers

– $60.4 billion: Non-apprehension costs for “aggressive interior enforcement†including, $13.4 billion: Legal processing; $11.3 billion: Transportation; $35.7 billion: Detention 8.6 billion: Increase CBP by 5,000.

Trump’s immigration action could also reduce GDP by $5 trillion over 10 years.

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) admitted tonight that we would be paying for Trump’s border wall.

Of course, the spirit of Donald Trump’s executive orders is not who we are supposed to be as a country.

In Upper New York Bay, the Statue of Liberty welcomes millions of immigrants, representing our land of liberty, hope and opportunity for those who are willing to work hard. That is who we have always been.

Donald Trump is doing what the terrorists couldn’t; he’s changing America into a dark, closed off, loser (no science, no leadership, etc) of a country. Oh, and we’ll also be broke if he keeps spending like this, but he doesn’t see debt as a problem. And we all knew that when he was running.

January 25 shall be Trump’s First Anti-Immigrant Day. Let it be acknowledged with loud objections and protests.
