Heather Heyer’s Mom Won’t Talk To Trump After He Equated Her Murdered Daughter To KKK

Susan Bro, the mother of the woman murdered in the white supremacist terror attack in Charlottesville, says she has not and will not speak to Donald Trump after he equated her daughter to white supremacists.

Video of Bro on ABC’s Good Morning America:

Robin Roberts said that Trump reached out, and asked Bro if she has talked to Trump directly.

The grieving mother answered, “I have not, and now I will not. At first, I just missed his calls. The first call it looked like actually came during the funeral. I didn’t even see that message. There were three more frantic messages from press secretaries throughout the day, and I didn’t know why that had been on Wednesday, and I was home recovering from the exhaustion of the funeral, and so I thought I’ll get to him later, then I had more meetings to establish her foundation, so I hadn’t really watched the news until last night, and I am not talking to the President now, after what he said about my child. It’s not that I saw somebody else’s tweets about him. I saw an actual clip of him at a press conference equating the protesters like Miss Heyer, with the KKK and the white supremacists.”

It is telling that Trump didn’t reach out to the family of Heather Heyer until after his press conference where he defended racists, Nazis, and white supremacists. Heather Heyer died on Saturday, and Trump didn’t reach out to her family until Wednesday. In the time, Trump twice made comments and remarks defending the people who murdered Heyer. It appears that the president saw no need to reach out to a family that was killed in an act of domestic terrorism until his comments generated bad publicity.

The White House tried to use Susan Bro as a public relations stunt, and she was lucky that she missed their calls.

Trump has defined himself and his presidency in a way that is never going to go away. When the President defended racists and white supremacists, he turned a nation, outside of his diehard partisan support against him. Those people may never be won over, which is why Trump is a dead duck, not a lame duck president.
