A retired astronaut – a man who knows a thing or two about space travel – blasted Donald Trump for establishing a Space Force while ignoring cyber threats against our democracy, especially from Russia.
According to The Hill, Scott Kelly, who is a former NASA astronaut, said Trump is wasting U.S. resources on his childish space endeavor while ignoring “the war we’re currently in.”

“This Space Force is talking about some future, potentially almost scientific war that we may have to be a party of. How about we deal with the war we’re currently in?” he added.

“The cyber war that is, you know, trying to affect our democracy, the thing that’s most important to the United States, which is free and fair elections,” he also said.
Kelly, a retired Navy captain, also pointed out how much money it would cost to start a Space Force at a time when it could be used in other parts of the national defense budget.
“It’s not clear to me what the purpose is of this new branch of the military, which is going to be incredibly expensive,” he said, according to The Hill. “And my big concern here is that, you know, space has been a place for us to work in a peaceful manner. And, you know, changing that with not any clear reason at this point is, like I said, kind of hard to understand.”
“We’re currently in a war right now,” Kelly added. “We should worry about that one.”
Trump has the mind of a third-grader
Trump’s desire to establish an additional branch of the military – a Space Force! – reads like it came from the mind of a third grader discussing “cool stuff” with his friends on the playground.
As The Hill pointed out, Trump went ahead with the silly idea “despite a lack of support from military leaders.” But because this unfit man is commander-in-chief, they are moving forward with the idea – without congressional approval.
Meanwhile, the real threat on America’s doorstep – particularly ahead of the 2018 midterm elections – is cyber warfare meant to undermine future elections.
And since Russia seems to be enemy number one in that fight, Trump is missing in action.
