Even by Trump standards, this is some disgusting bigotry and division, as he claims asylum seekers are stealing money from veterans.
Trump said, “We must also restore the integrity of our broken asylum system. Our nation is a proud history of affording protection to those fleeing government persecutions. Unfortunately, legitimate asylum seekers are being displaced by those lodging frivolous claims. These are frivolous claim to gain admission into our country. Asylum abuse also strains our public school systems, our hospitals, and local shelters, using funds that we should and go to elderly veterans.”

Trump proposed harming millions of elderly vets in his budget
It isn’t asylum seekers who are harming elderly vets. It is Donald Trump. In the most recent Trump budget, he proposed healthcare cuts that would impact 9.4 million vets on Medicare and an additional 1.8 million on Medicaid. Trump also proposed cutting food stamps for 1.4 million vets. The biggest threat to elderly veterans who have served their country isn’t an asylum seeker who is looking build a safer and better life in a new country.
The biggest threat to the welfare of our elder veterans is the man in the White House who is proposing cuts to assistance that they depend on for survival.
