Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is promising to investigate who like a porn tweet on his Twitter when it is being speculated that it was Sen. Cruz himself.
Like OJ Simpson, Cruz is promising to conduct his own investigation:
There will be an internal effort to figure out who in Cruz’s office was responsible for liking porn tweet, per @tedbarrettcnn

Cruz blamed a staffer for porn tweet like heard round the world, “There are a number of people on the team who have access on the account. It appears that someone inadvertently hit the like button. When we discovered the post, which was I guess an hour or two later, we pulled it down. It was a staffing issue. And it was inadvertent, it was a mistake. It was not a deliberate act. We’re dealing with it internally, but it was a mistake. It was not malicious.”
The odds are that even if it were Cruz, some low-level staffer would take the fall.
However, the reason why this tweet is such a big story is that the sanctimonious Cruz has built his entire political image around being a socially conservative Christian. Plus, no likes Cruz. His Senate colleagues don’t like him. The American people don’t like him, and the idea of this happening to such a smug and reviled character is bringing a smile to the faces of many a person on both sides of the aisle.
Cruz can try to dismiss this an internal matter, but the Senator from Texas still has his eyes on the White House, which means that in the future he will be defined by a new nickname. Whackin’ Ted.
