Van Jones called out the race-based hypocrisy of Republicans by bluntly stating that Obama would be in Guantanamo if he had one week like Trump.

Jones said on ABC’s This Week, “If President Obama had one week like this, he would have been in Guantanamo. They would have said this guy lost it. He’s driving all over the road like a drunk driver. We have no idea what he’s, and Biden is now president.
Van Jones was 100% correct
If Obama had on a whim suggesting taking everyone’s guns and dealing with due process later, and then followed that up by starting a trade war, and the media reported that Obama was angry, isolated, and acting erratically, Republicans would have called a special session of the House and began drafting articles of impeachment. The 180 that Republicans have done on the issue of presidential competence is striking.
Republicans don’t care that Trump abuses executive power on impulse. They don’t care about honesty. This is a party that spent years in a fit because they thought that Obama lied about Obamacare. Their president tells more lies before 11 AM than most other presidents did in a month, and they don’t blink an eye.
Van Jones nailed it. We are witnessing an era of historic political cowardice by a congressional majority, which is why the great wrong that is the Trump presidency won’t be corrected until Democrats take control of all or part of Congress.
