With the government shutdown not working, Trump threw a tantrum and claimed that he was getting his money “the hard way” with a shutdown.
Trump tweeted:
For those that naively ask why didn’t the Republicans get approval to build the Wall over the last year, it is because IN THE SENATE WE NEED 10 DEMOCRAT VOTES, and they will gives us “NONE†for Border Security! Now we have to do it the hard way, with a Shutdown. Too bad! @FoxNews

Trump blew his chance to get wall money last year by turning down a DACA for the wall deal with Democrats. Trump blew it, and now he his throwing a fit because Democrats won’t give him one-fifth of what he has previously turned down.
There is going to be no wall money in the deal that reopens the government.
Democratic Senate Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) told Mike Pence and Jared Kushner to their faces that there will be no wall. Incoming House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has been saying for weeks that there will be no wall. Pelosi’s office called out Trump’s incoming Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney for lying about negotiations on money for the wall.
Trump is only hurting himself and millions of Americans by doing this “the hard way.” More Americans blame Trump than blame the Democrats for the government shutdown. Republicans in Congress think that the wall is a waste of money. Democrats don’t want the wall. Trump is the one who promised a wall, and the only way that his wall is going to get built is if Mexico pays for it, because Democrats aren’t going to vote for a penny for the wall.
