Republicans run ad in Moscow Mitch’s hometown demanding that he secure US elections

The ad:

Republicans for the Rule of Law legal advisor Chris Truax said in a statement provided to PoliticusUSA:

Following former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s testimony about the continuing threat to our political system from Russia and other foreign adversaries, Republicans for the Rule of Law is calling on Congress to secure our elections. Instead of seizing the moment for bipartisan action, the Senator McConnell recently blocked multiple election security bills.

Our representatives should work to pass bipartisan legislation to deter future election meddling, secure our electoral system, and encourage cybersecurity. This is not a red team or blue team issue. We all have a stake in free and fair American elections.

The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence confirms that all fifty states – including Kentucky – were targeted by the Russians during the 2016 election. Worse things are coming in 2020. It’s time for Senator McConnell to step up and defend the people of Kentucky – and America — from the Russian threat.

The Demand For Election Security Is Bipartisan

Sen. McConnell has refused on at least 5 occasions to allow legislation passed by the House to secure US elections from future attacks to come to the Senate floor for a vote. Mitch McConnell has been, is, and will continue to be the biggest hurdle blocking election security legislation. McConnell doesn’t offer a good answer for why he refuses to secure US elections.

However, the honest answer is McConnell knows that the Republican Senate majority is in jeopardy if the GOP doesn’t get help from Russia and other Trump-supporting foreign governments in 2020. Mitch McConnell is selling out his own country to stay in power. This fact is why the Moscow Mitch nickname upsets him so much.
The American people want to protect democracy. Republican elected officials need Putin’s help to save their jobs.
