Don't Miss Sarah Jones's Essay On Kristi Noem Titled Predatory Is The Point On The Daily.
Secretary Hillary Clinton had a booyah moment today during her official campaign launch on Roosevelt Island in the Four Freedoms Park. The 2016 Democratic presidential candidate slaughtered ageism and sexism in one moment, “I may not be the youngest candidate in this race. But I will be the youngest woman President in the history of the United States!”
Video:
Former Sec. of State Clinton said:
It’s no secret that we’re going up against some pretty powerful forces that will do and spend whatever it takes to advance a very different vision for America. But I’ve spent my life fighting for children, families, and our country. And I’m not stopping now.
You know, I know how hard this job is. I’ve seen it up close and personal.
All our Presidents come into office looking so vigorous. (Laughter.) And then we watch their hair grow grayer and grayer.
Well, I may not be the youngest candidate in this race. But I will be the youngest woman President in the history of the United States!
And the first grandmother as well.
The crowd loved it, but it was also a moment to own the historical moment and to put an end to the ageism/sexism some have been pulling on the former Secretary. There have been suggestions that she is too old and that being a grandmother makes her not fit for the job. These are odd criticisms that we don’t hear about male candidates. But Hillary Clinton put an end to their effectiveness today by announcing she will be the youngest woman president in the White House.
I hope that puts Republican minds at ease.
