The only thing keeping the Donald Trump and Fox “News” detente from leading this week’s Friday Fox Follies, is the school massacre in Oregon. Bored silly of writing about Trump, this is almost a welcome distraction. ALMOST!

As clear as he could be, an angry President Obama Speaks on Umpqua Shooting: ‘This Is Something We Should Politicize.’

You can watch as you read along:

POTUS QUOTUS: [S]omebody, somewhere will comment and say, Obama politicized this issue. Well, this is something we should politicize. It is relevant to our common life together, to the body politic.

So, naturally, Fox Accuses Obama Of Speaking Out About Oregon Shooting In Order To Distract Attention From Middle East, while Fox’s Stephen Hayes Claims President Obama Is Using Oregon Shooting As Distraction From “Avalanche Of Bad News.” Somehow, I don’t think that’s what the President meant.

For his part, it was not only made political, but religious, when Bill O’Reilly Links Lack Of “Judeo-Christian” Belief To Mass Shootings:

So, finally tonight, over the past 19 years I have covered dozens of mass murder situations, including the 9/11 attack, where people in my neighborhood lost loved ones. Now, all of these stories have one thing in common, one thing. Evil. If you are a believer in Judeo-Christian philosophy, you know that life is a struggle between good and evil. And human beings are compelled to choose good if they want to be rewarded after death. That is the crux of Judeo-Christian philosophy.

He also misdirected While Recounting Past Mass Shootings, O’Reilly Claims No Public Policy Will Prevent The “Carnage,” because, of course, it’s not about guns at all. /sarcasm

Meanwhile, Mike Huckabee Slams Obama’s ‘Shameless’ Attempt to Politicize Oregon Shooting, while Conservative Media Use Oregon Community College Shooting To Revive “Gun-Free Zone” Canard.

Do you detect a pattern? The simple truth is that Fox “News” is practically a non-stop orgy of POTUS and Hillary Clinton bashing, only interrupted by stories about how faith is under fire and cute little human interest stories. Is it FAIR & BALANCED when O’Reilly Worries The Pope May Be Influenced By Obama’s ‘Anti-Capitalism’ or when Fox’s Dr. Ablow Says Obama ‘Succeeded’ In Syria Because He ‘Wants American Leadership To Decline’?

Attacking Clinton is the new POTUS. Just this week:

Fox’s Perino Ignores NYT Correction To Falsely Claim Clinton Personally Signed Off On Aide’s Job AuthorizationFox Figures Are Still Pushing Debunked Myths About Hillary Clinton’s Email Use

Meanwhile, accidentally telling the truth, Rep. Kevin McCarthy Touts Benghazi Committee Harm To Hillary Clinton As A Reason He Should Be Speaker – And Gets ‘Credit’ From Hannity. According to this STUDY: Fox Ignores House Majority Leader’s Boast On Hannity That Benghazi Investigation Is Harming Clinton Politically. Except for one host. After Republican Lawmaker Boasts That Benghazi Committee Is Hurting Clinton’s Poll Numbers, Hannity Gives Him Credit, followed by Hannity Doubles Down: The Phony Benghazi Scandal Committee Fox Built Was “Political.” Even Fox’s Chris Wallace [admits]: Damaging Clinton Was “Clearly One Of The Things That Republicans Were Hoping” For When They Started Benghazi Committee.

This as Rachel Maddow Highlights Fox’s Praise For The Political Nature Of Benghazi Investigations. Watch & read:

The Democrats have said from the beginning that the Republicans perverted this issue. That they took this solemn and serious national security matter and they took one of the most serious things a Congress can do, this special select committee process, and they just turned it toward partisan purposes. They turned it into just a way to try to hurt Hillary Clinton in the next election. That’s what Democrats have been saying about this thing for a year and a half, since the Republicans first brought up the whole idea. And Republicans have spent the whole year and a half saying “No, no, no, that’s not at all what we’re doing, how dare you?” And now on the cusp of becoming speaker, Kevin McCarthy has just admitted “Yeah, this was all to hurt Hillary Clinton, didn’t we do a good job?” And Fox News says “Yes, I give you credit for that.”

Also worth your time is Eric Boehlert’s article at Media Matters on Benghazi, Emails, Planned Parenthood: How D.C. Press Keeps Enabling The GOP’s Orchestrated Distractions:. From the larger article:

Here’s just a handful of [the Fox News”] manufactured distractions:

*Benghazi stand down order

*Clinton Cash

*Department of Education official Kevin Jennings

*Economist Jonathan Gruber’s Obamacare comment

*Food stamps

*Gibson Guitar raid

*New Black Panthers

*Shirley Sherrod

*Voter fraud

As Media Matters can attest, virtually none of the often-hysterical allegations attached to those distractions were ever proven to be true. Instead, the pursuits imploded under their own weight. Yet too often, these supposed scandals broke out of the Fox News bubble and became mainstream “news.”

So when’s the press going to get the message and stop enabling these charades?

Speaking of charades: John Oliver busts Fox News using 5-year-old clip of chanting Muslims to create fear of ‘terrorist’ refugees, while The Nightly Show Skewers Fox News’ Mind Reading Of Obama/Putin Meeting.

IT’S NOT FUNNY BECAUSE IT’S TRUE: That’s why it’s incomprehensible that Fox News Tops Another News Trustworthiness Poll. All I can conclude is that the Latest Gallup Poll Indicates You Don’t Trust Media One Bit and Fox “News” has managed to snow everyone into believing they are the least biased, despite all evidence to the contrary. Therefore, it’s nothing but bad news to learn Fox News to Launch New SiriusXM Channel Next Week.

PLANNED VICTIMIZATION: When Bill Hemmer Helps Jim Jordan Defend His Attack On Cecile Richards, and Bill Hemmer Helps Jason Chaffetz Advance GOP Claim: Planned Parenthood Doesn’t Need Federal $, without mentioning that the Chaffetz Chart shown at Planned Parenthood hearing is misleading and ‘ethically wrong,’ Fox “News” has clearly taken sides in the War on Women.

The same when Sean Hannity Defends Carly Fiorina’s Repeatedly Debunked GOP Debate Comments About Planned Parenthood and when Fox’s Kimberly Guilfoyle Attacks Clinton As ‘Architect Of War On Babies’ For Supporting Women’s Right To Choose. No matter that Planned Parenthood’s Activities Are Completely Legal, And Republicans Are Proving It, Fox’s Guilfoyle Asks “What The Heck Is Wrong With … Selfish And Disgusting” Women Who Undergo Later-Term Abortions, while falsely Citing CVS And Obamacare, O’Reilly Argues There Is No Need To Fund Planned Parenthood.

But the prize — once again — goes to Fox’s Hasselbeck [who] Is Offended That Nancy Pelosi Referred To The Doctored Planned Parenthood Videos As “Doctored.” Mustering all her phony outrage, she interviewed the aforementioned Chaffetz. Watch:

HASSELBECK: I want to — if we have it, I’d love for everyone to hear Nancy Pelosi here and what she had to say, saying that these videos were somehow doctored? […]

EB: How irresponsible and aggravating is it when Nancy Pelosi asserts that these videos have been doctored, that word alone, just spiking into my spine, but yet not having seen them, she can say that they need to be investigated because they’ve been doctored. Your thoughts?

REP. JASON CHAFFETZ (R-UT): Well, the Democrats want to bury their head in the sand on this topic. When I issued a subpoena, Democrats didn’t support me on that. When we went to issue a letter to go get all the raw materials, they didn’t support me on that. They have a political agenda, and that is, they want their funding arm, which is Planned Parenthood, to get out the vote and all the money that they transfer from a 501(c)3 into a 501(c)4 to engage in these political activities, they want that funding to be there. And that’s the topic of what we’re going to talk about today.

Who has a political agenda again?

The fact of the matter is that words have consequences. Ask Dr. Tiller. Without any more evidence than Fox “News” supplies when it makes up stuff, I conclude that the Fire at California Planned Parenthood Determined to Be Arson was the act of a Fox “News” viewer.

IT’S FUNNY BECAUSE IT’S TRUE: O’Reilly Thinks Americans Must Be ‘Losing It’ Because Biden Is More Popular Than Republicans. No! Really! O’Reilly [thinks the]: Only Reason Biden Beats Republicans in Polls Is Because Americans Are Dumb. FFF believes that’s the only reason anyone is still watching the Fox “News” Channel.

BEAT THE CLOCK: In yet anther attempt to discredit him, Fox & Friends Digs Into Ahmed Mohamed’s Alleged ‘History of Trouble’ when Fox Claims Ahmed Mohammed “May Not Be As Innocent As He Seems” Because Of “Disciplinary Issues” Like “Blowing Bubbles In The Bathroom.” And yet, they’ve got his back after CJ Pearson, Fox News’ Favorite 13-Year-Old Conservative, Has Been Exposed As A Liar.

BEATING A DEAD HORSE: With His Poll Numbers Sliding Donald Trump Slithers Back To Fox News as Donald Trump Is Speaking Warmly About Fox News Again. That must mean The Feud Is Off! Donald Trump To Appear On O’Reilly Tonight. Could it be because Fox News Slobbers Over Donald Trump’s Tax Plan For The Rich? Not to be a fly in the ointment, but What Happened to That Meeting Between Donald Trump and Roger Ailes?
