President Barack Obama celebrated Labor Day by publishing an open letter “to America’s hardworking men and women,” which was “shared through unions and labor, civil rights, and community organizations across the country.”
In a stout defense of working Americans and labor unions, the president told Americans they “should be able to get ahead, retire with dignity, and leave something behind for the next generation.”
