Roy Moore Announces Trump-Like ‘Investigations’ Into All Of His Sexual Accusers

In his first public appearance since four women came forward to expose him as a sexual predator, Alabama GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore called the new accusations a “charade” and said there will be “revelations” released by his campaign in the coming days.

Moore said, “We do not intend to let the Democrats or the establishment Republicans or anybody else behind this story stop this campaign.”

More of his remarks:

We do not intend to let the Democrats or the establishment Republicans or anybody else behind this story stop this campaign. There are investigations going on. In the next few days, there will be revelations about the motivations and the content of this article. They will be brought to the public. We fully expect the people of Alabama to see through this charade and to vote in the primary coming up.

It should be noted that it’s not Democrats or Republicans or “anybody else” driving this story. It’s Moore’s own behavior decades ago – when he thought it was appropriate to engage in sexual behavior with teenage girls – that led to this moment.

It doesn’t matter how much time has passed since the alleged behavior. What matters now is that these victims – during a time when women feel more empowered than ever to come forward – are brave enough to tell their stories.

Moore didn’t have a leg to stand on initially, but his recent explanation that he doesn’t “generally” engage sexually with teenage girls has only added fuel to this raging inferno – so he’s taking a page from the Trump playbook.

Like Trump’s phony investigation into former President Obama’s birth certificate and his promise during last year’s campaign to sue the women accusing him of sexual assault (which he hasn’t done), Moore appears to believe the best way out of this scandal is to wage phony “investigations” and attack his accusers.

As he said on Saturday, hopefully Alabama voters “see through this charade.”
