Rep. Ted Lieu Warns Trump That If He Fires Mueller People Will Take To The Streets And Impeach Him

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) had a blunt warning for Donald Trump that if he tries to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller, the American people will take to the streets and try to impeach him.

Lieu was asked on The Beat With Ari Melber what he would do if Trump fired Rod Rosenstein as part of a move to fire Mueller.

He answered,”We would take to the streets. We would try impeach are Donald Trump, and look if he wants to follow in the footsteps of Richard Nixon, he’s welcome to try, but it will not end well for him.”

Rep. Lieu’s answer might have been the understatement of the century. If Trump is willing to call it a day after getting tax cuts for himself and his wealthy pals, he’s more than able to do that, but there is no way that he will stay in office if he fires Mueller.

Trump has always overestimated his political value to congressional Republicans. Now that Ryan and McConnell have fulfilled their tax cuts for the rich dreams, they are free to try to save their majorities in the House and Senate by throwing Trump overboard. Congressional Republicans have zero loyalty to Trump. They view the President as an out of it old man who should be rubberstamping their agenda.

Ted Lieu was right. Trump should try to fire Mueller and see what happens, because the ensuing political firestorm would get Democrats back in charge of Congress and Trump and Pence a one way ticket to impeachment.
