Republicans destroyed the credibility of their own memo
By choosing to release parts of it to Trump friendly outlets first, Republicans made their intentions clear. The memo is a PR campaign against the FBI. Republicans are trying to build a cover story for Trump that discredits the FBI and the Mueller investigation. The purpose here is to shoot the messengers and intimidate an investigation.
Smart and effective people who were trying to undermine an investigation would pre-release their information in its entirety to an objective media outlet. Cherry picking excerpts for Fox News to hype is a move that suggests that Republicans are trying to keep their own supporters in the fold.
The memo worthless, and Republicans just made sure that the bulk of the country will know that it is nothing more than partisan fluff.
