Sen. Kamala Harris Gets Kavanaugh To Admit He Didn’t Bother To Watch Dr. Ford’s Testimony

Toward the end of Thursday’s hearing, Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris got Brett Kavanaugh to admit that he didn’t even take the time watch Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony earlier in the day.

In her final question to the judge, Sen. Harris asked a simple question: “Did you watch Dr. Ford’s testimony?”

After a long pause and a Trump-style sniff, Kavanaugh responded: “I did not.”

Kavanaugh, of course, quickly tried to clean up his dismissal of Dr. Ford’s testimony by promising to watch it at a later time.

“I plan to, but I did not,” he added after Harris’ time expired and the committee started to move on.

Like much of what he said during Thursday’s hearing, that’s hard to believe.

Kavanaugh and the GOP are acting like Dr. Ford’s testimony never happened

As the hearing went on, the Republicans on the committee acted as if Dr. Ford’s testimony didn’t even take place earlier in the day.

MSNBC‘s Chris Hayes put it best on Twitter a short time ago:

Whether it was Chuck Grassley, John Cornyn, Ted Cruz, Orrin Hatch, or South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, who completely lost it at multiple points throughout the day, the Republican strategy during Kavanaugh‘s testimony was to essentially ignore what Dr. Ford said hours earlier.

Instead, throughout the hearing, they whined about the timing of the allegations, attacked Democrats, and issued repeated apologies to Kavanaugh for making him go through this.

It’s no surprise that Brett Kavanaugh didn’t bother to watch the powerful testimony of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. After all, many of his GOP defenders on the Senate Judiciary Committee spent the entire hearing acting as if it never happened.
