Trump tweeted:
I didn’t call Bob Costa of the Washington Post, he called me (Returned his call)! Just more Fake News.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 24, 2019
Robert Costa previously said otherwise:
President Trump called me this evening, in response to my request for comment on a profile story on a Trump World figure. After speaking on that topic, he took a few questions about his administration's standoff with Congress. We'll publish those remarks tonight.

The House Democratic investigations and the subpoena for the testimony of the former White House counsel Don McGahn clearly has Trump rattled, and the House investigations into his finances set Trump off on an unhinged rant while talking to reporters where he began referring to himself in the third person. Trump thinks that he doesn’t have to comply with subpoenas.
The president is acting scared and trapped. His inability to keep his story straight in the same tweet reveals how far under his skin the Democrats have gotten. The investigative process is only in the beginning stages, but Trump is already showing signs of falling apart.
