America is finding out what would happen if a person who only got their info from Fox News ran the country, as Donald Trump is making policy decisions and judgments based on what he sees on Fox News.
Brian Stelter of CNN reported on the surreal idea that President Of The United States is being guided by a cable news network:

The on-screen graphic called Manning an “ungrateful traitor” in an oversized font. The host, Abby Huntsman, said Manning called Obama a “weak leader.” (In fact, Manning implied that but did not call Obama “weak.”) Huntsman’s segment was at 5:50 a.m. At 6:04 a.m., Trump tweeted: “Ungrateful TRAITOR Chelsea Manning, who should never have been released from prison, is now calling President Obama a weak leader. Terrible!”

….

But lately it appears his tweets have been provoked by Fox. On Tuesday he vowed to send “the feds” into Chicago to curb violence shortly after a segment on Bill O’Reilly’s show about the same subject.

It appears that the US has a president whose decisions aren’t being shaped by briefings with experts and policy documents, but what he sees on partisan cable news. Because of format and time constraints, television news isn’t the best source to get an in-depth discussion of facts and information.

Part of the problem with the information level of American voters is that they are highly dependent on television news for their information, but television news has been pressured by its corporate ownership to lighter and more like entertainment that a source of need to know knowledge.

Trump is a short attention span president who doesn’t read and relies on a network that pushes belief and ideology over fact for his current events education.

Given that Fox News is his source of information, it is no surprise that Trump’s first six days in office have been a complete train wreck.
