CNN's Jake Tapper asked Carter Page repeatedly if he had any relationships with Russian government officials, and Page responded by dodging the questions.
"It gins up [Trump's] base and it may help him politically, but legally it’s of no moment. ... I think the Republicans over-promised and under-delivered with their memo."
While Republicans point to the memo as proof that the FBI was out to get Trump's campaign via FISA court warrants, Maddow explained just how insane that argument is.
Rep. Adam Schiff, the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, put another nail in Trump's coffin after Carter Page admitted that he not only met with high-level officials in Russia but that he also notified his supervisors on the Trump campaign about the meeting.
Page appeared to have incriminated himself by casually admitting that, yeah, he was on email chains about Russia with George Papadopoulos.
"It's been an ongoing assault. ... I was doing nothing, I was doing nothing. ... The meeting was about nothing," Page said.
Despite being told by his own lawyers not to tweet about the Russia scandal, Donald Trump fired off an enraged tweet about Carter Page after watching a segment on Fox and Friends, which proves that America has a president who is being guided by a news network that fakes and scripts its segments.
Carter Page couldn't guarantee he did not discuss the easing of sanctions with his Russian contacts and told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos, "Let’s see what the FISA transcripts say."
Calls are growing for an immediate special prosecutor to be appointed after it was disclosed a FISA warrant was obtained to monitor Trump adviser Carter Page.
"This is the clearest evidence so far that the FBI had reason to believe during the 2016 presidential campaign that a Trump campaign adviser was in touch with Russian agents."
