Democrats Arrogantly Overestimated the Intelligence of the American Voter

The loss of the House of Representatives by Democrats this election will be analyzed to death, and there is certainly enough blame to go around regardless which group is critiqued. A great portion of the blame can be attributed to corporate infusion of cash to Republican and Tea Party candidates. However, Democrats and President Obama must accept that they too, own their fair share of blame for overestimating the intelligence of the American voter.

How Joe Lieberman Became Progressive Enemy # 1

First, the fact that he couldn’t take losing to Ned Lamont in the Democratic Primary for his Senate seat in his last election (2006), so HE started HIS OWN PARTY, Connecticut for Lieberman then he campaigned for John McCain, and now his criticism has helped derail the public option, because at the end of the day it is all about Joe Lieberman.

Dick Cheney Gives the GOP More Bad Advice

In an interview with North Dakota radio host Scott Hennen former vice president Dick Cheney said that it would be a mistake for the Republican Party to become more moderate. He said that doing so would mean changing the fundamental philosophy of the GOP. Cheney also said that the older Republicans should move on, but yet he is still here, helping the Democrats.

Dick Cheney Claims to Be Defending the Little Guy From Obama

Former VP Dick Cheney gave an interview to The Weekly Standard, in which he claimed that he publicly criticizes President Obama because he is fighting for the little guy. Cheney claimed to be defending the lower level Bush administration people on the torture issue. The problem with Cheney’s statement is that President Obama has made it clear that he is not interested in prosecuting the little guy.

Since joining the Democratic Party, Sen. Arlen Specter has voted against the bankruptcy reform bill, and the Obama budget. Specter has also claimed that he won’t be a loyal Democrat, and that he won’t support the Employee Free Choice Act. If Arlen Specter won’t show loyalty to the state’s Democrats, then why should they show loyalty to him in the 2010 Democratic primary? Two More Superdelegates Side with Obama

ImageBarack Obama picked up two more superdelegates today, as the Chair and Vice Chair of the Maryland Democratic Party announced that they will be supporting Obama.

This represents quite a shift because Party chairman Michael Cryor and Vice chairman Lauren Dugas Glover originally had announced that they planned to stay neutral until the end of the primary season.
