Obama Blasts Republicans During SOTU and Dares Them To Try Living On Minimum Wage

Of course, nothing helps families make ends meet like higher wages. That’s why this Congress still needs to pass a law that makes sure a woman is paid the same as a man for doing the same work. Really. It’s 2015. It’s time. We still need to make sure employees get the overtime they’ve earned. And to everyone in this Congress who still refuses to raise the minimum wage, I say this: If you truly believe you could work full-time and support a family on less than $15,000 a year, go try it. If not, vote to give millions of the hardest-working people in America a raise.

America’s Dangerous Dirty Little Secret

Every nation on Earth is plagued with inconvenient, and uncomfortable, ‘secrets’ that are widely known by the population, but are hardly ever discussed. America is no different and one of its dirty little secrets is that although the U.S. Constitution was created to guarantee that all citizens are treated equally, a growing number of Republican states are actively seeking protection to discriminate based on religion.

Despite Obama’s National Economic Success Republican State Economies Are Failing   

Republicans ran on, and won big with, their claim that the GOP is “the party of solutions” founded on conservative pro-growth economic policies, deregulation, and tax cuts for the rich they claimed were more successful than anything “hapless” Democrats or Obama could ever hope to achieve. This is despite the President’s nearly five-year job growth record, world-leading GDP growth, and increased revenue paying down the nation’s debt at a record pace.

The Kochs’ Very Profitable War On Busses and Mass Transit

Whether it is paying Republican governors, state legislators, or congressional representatives the Kochs are behind every last effort to kill alternatives to driving. They have successfully blocked several states’ high speed rail projects, and obstructed community progress on bike lanes, light rail, bus rapid transit, or urban communities’ “walkability” factor; any mode of transportation that keeps Americans from driving cars and purchasing gas.
